As you may know Horrible Histories is airing two more specials (Series 7) this year, one about storytelling and the other about the Great Fire of London.
This year marks 350 years since the Great Fire of London, and so that is probably the reason for the episode around that. It is also likely that this will be the episode where Robert Webb guest-stars as Sir Christopher Wren, shown in the picture below with Richard David Caine.
Wren – best known for his reincarnation of St Paul’s Cathedral after the fire – also had a wider vision for London. Similar to John Evelyn, his plan would have seen narrow medieval streets replaced with wide avenues spreading out from piazzas.
